Wilson has been a regular panellist at live events for The Blizzard, Football Weekly and Second Captains at venues across the UK and Ireland, as well as in Oslo and Copenhagen.

He has lectured at Brigham Young University, the University of Utah, the University of Regensburg and the University of Derby, chaired events for FairSquare and Seven Dials delivered speeches at the Nordic Football Conference (Jyväskalä), the Winter League Convention (Antalya), Football Forum Hungary (Budapest) and at events run by the Norwegian Football Federation and the Danish Football League, and been a guest at literary festivals in Oxford, Cheltenham, Newcastle and Derby.
